meQuilibrium Appoints Brad Smith, Ph.D. as Chief Science Officer

Co-founder Andrew Shatté, Ph.D., to take role of Chief Knowledge Officer

Boston, MA (July 9, 2020) – meQuilibrium, the leading human capital solution grounded in the science of resilience, announced that Brad Smith, Ph.D. has joined the senior management team as Chief Science Officer. Dr. Smith will lead meQuilibrium’s active science agenda and research function in the pursuit of scientific advancements to help build workforce potential. Previously, Dr. Smith was Senior Data Scientist at Cigna where he evaluated Cigna products and services and developed a Cigna-wide business intelligence dashboard.

Dr. Smith was formerly with meQuilibrium from 2016-2019 in the role of VP, Data Science, where he was responsible for leading the company’s research advancements in resilience and well-being.

Dr. Smith has over two decades of experience in the field of healthcare analytics and research and earned his Ph.D. in quantitative social science at Indiana University Bloomington. Dr. Smith is the author of numerous publications including two seminal, peer-reviewed journal articles in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

In line with this new appointment, meQuilibrium co-founder Andrew Shatté, Ph.D. will take on the role of chief knowledge officer, which will include developing the company’s growing professional services training portfolio as a complement to meQuilibrium’s digital solution and collaborating with Dr. Smith on his research.
